Presently the Head of the Department, Dr. Subash K. has been into teaching at the post-graduate level for the past 27 years. He is also the Research Guide for PhD programme in the University of Kerala and the University of Calicut. ‘Reflections on Media Credibility’, a book on the credibility factor of present media is written by him. He has published several research papers in the area of communication studies in national / international journals. He is a member of the Commonwealth Association for Education in Journalism and Communication and also of the Indian Council for Communication Training and Research. His prime areas of teaching are ‘Reporting’, ‘Research Methodology’ and ‘Advertising’.

A communication educator in the department since 1985, P.V. Yaseen is a specialist in Public Communication Campaigns. He has many articles and book chapters on Communication to his credit. In the department he teaches ‘Introduction to Mass Communication’, ‘Communication: Theory and Applications’, ‘Public Communication Campaigns’ and ‘Development Communication’.

Joined as Asst. Professor in the Department after 18 years of his stint with the print media. A First rank holder of MCJ from the University of Calicut (1994), his PhD thesis in Mass Communication was a seminal study on the readership aspects of Malayalam dailies with a special emphasis on the Gate-keeping theories of Communication. As an editorial member of Mathrubhumi daily he has worked as Chief Sub Editor and Chief Reporter at its various units across Kerala. He has also participated in many National and International Media conferences as a Resource person. His areas of interests include Development Communication, Cultural studies and Media Management.

Asst.Professor holds Post-graduate Degrees in both Mass Communication and Sociology from the University of Kerala.She has worked as guest lecturer in Journalism at ST.Xavier’s College, Thumba and at Don Bosco College, Angadikadavu .She has also completed B.Ed in Social Science and her topics of interest include Reporting, Editing and Public Relations.
