Bangled hands averse to double bells

Though it is a strenuous work the young lady conductors continue to issue tickets to commuters. “We have only thirteen working days in a month, but we feel like these thirteen days as thirteen decades” revealed Sreemol, a frustrated lady conductor from East Fort bus station. This is not a unique incident.
The past two years have witnessed an increase in the number of lady conductors in K.S.R.T.C. buses to approximately 300.
Soumya, a lady conductor stated that she has decided not to continue the job in the very first day itself. It is only the monetary benefits and security of a government job that forced people like her to go on with this tedious job.
The dreary work schedule leading to ill health and offensive behaviour from the part of the passengers have forced several lady conductors to quit the job. This busy schedule makes them go weaker. On the other hand, they are happy with the support of the other staff of K.S.R.T.C.
